Islay Whisky

Scotland's legendary region Islay is home to some of the world's peatiest whiskies, including the three south coast giants: Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig. However, despite all this, distilleries such as Bunnahabhain and Bruichladdich often produce much softer, fruitier malts, with Bowmore providing rich, muscular, coastal whisky and Caol Ila giving up its own oily, smoky single malt. The recently founded Kilchoman is also making headway, thanks to its rich, peaty, distinctive style.
