Edradour Whisky Distillery

The Edradour distillery was founded in Pitlochry in 1825, and it remains one of Scotland's smallest distilleries alongside Islay's tiny Kilchoman, both of which have a capacity of around 90,000 litres of alcohol per year. Despite its workforce of just three, Edradour has a massive following, and this is thanks to the distillery's superb range of experimental styles, including various exotic wood finished malts, as well as the peated Ballechin which was launched in 2006. The core expression, a 10 year old, remains the distillery's flagship, and we thoroughly recommend you try this nutty, rum-like malt...

Edradour's 12 year old Caledonia was selected by Douglas Maclean and it was even named after one of his songs. The cask he chose was an Oloroso sherry cask and the whisky was distilled in 1997.  More info
