Arran Whisky Distillery

The Arran distillery is the sole whisky producer on the island of the same name. The distillery was founded in 1993 by Harold Currie, an ex-MD at Chivas Brothers. It was the first legally run distillery on the island since the closure of the Lagg distillery in 1837, and the first spirit ran from the stills on the 17th August 1995. Today, the distillery runs at about a fifth of its 750,000 litre capacity, producing some exceptional whiskies, including a range of wood finishes.
